blog-icon By FDN Posted on January 31, 2014

In this fitness science bit we will be examining the post workout effect of fast absorbing protein, aka whey protein, and slow absorbing protein, such as  whole foods and casein, on muscle synthesis and eventually muscle growth.

The experiment was led by Stuart Phillips at the McMaster university, in 2011. The experiment examined a group made of 8 men at the age of 22, that performed a certain set of exercises.

Many people have a set ‘protein schedule’ in their mind that they believe is the best, that is why we bring you the summed up version of this interesting experiment. The results may affect your choice of post workout protein, so it is worth checking out.
