From the team at Redcon1 comes Breach, a new recovery supplement. Based on our experience with RedCon1, we are setting our expectations high for a BCAA blend that promises to help you recover your muscles and keep you hydrated. Let’s go ahead and Breach this label and see just how good it is and if it is offering something new.
Well thankfully Redcon1 have made this nice and easy to Breach by giving us full disclosure as they are known to do with most of their supplements.
Let’s start with the servings, we are looking at 30 scoops per tub. At 11.5g per scoop with a very nice 8.5g of active ingredients. And as always no artificial colors are used in any of the Redcon1 products, Breach being no exception. With that being said let’s go ahead break this label down.
5 grams 2:1:1 BCAA
Leucine: 2.5g Leucine which often is referred to as the main amino acid is one of the three branched chain amino acids. Its job is to activate the protein mTOR that will start to induce protein synthesis.
Isoleucine: 1.25g Isoleucine is one of three branched chain amino acids along with leucine and valine. Isoleucine is used for its ability to induce muscle protein synthesis and its ability to significantly increase glucose uptake as well as the usage of glucose while you exercise. It can also serve a role as a performance enhancer when taken pre workout in a carbohydrate replete state.
Valine: 1.25g Valine is another branched chain amino acid that acts in a very similar ways to Leucine. It’s usually always be taken together with the other two branched-chain amino acids, isoleucine and leucine.
Coconut Water Powder: 1g – The short story is Hydration & Digestion support. The longer one is: Coconut water is made of many naturally occurring bioactive enzymes such as acid phosphatase, peroxidase, catalase, dehydrogenase, diastase, RNA and polymerases. All of these enzymes work together to aid in digestion and metabolism. Coconut water also supports detoxification and is a good source of B-complex vitamins.
Glycerol: 1g – Yeah, the one you know from pump products. So, yeah you should feel some pumps with Breach but the other quality of Glycerol is helping the body replace water lost to keep from becoming dehydrated during workouts.
Taurine: 1g Taurine is one of the non essential Amino Acid that helps pull extra water in muscle cells, which supports hydration, endurance, and gives some pretty sweet water-based pumps, there also research that shows that Taurine can help to bolster your focus during workouts.
Postassium: 240mg Is a micro-mineral and the key mineral that the body needs to function properly. It’s role is to help lower blood pressure by balancing out the negative effects of salt.
Sodium: 160mg Is a natural occurring mineral used both as an electrolyte and mineral. Sodium helps control blood pressure and regulates the function of muscles and nerves.
The Label’s Bottom Line
We have Breached it! and this is what we like to see when we look for a good ratio of active ingredients to flavors and sweeteners in a BCAA supplement. Though there’s nothing really earth shattering in the Breach Formula, this is a solid post workout blend with a good mix of muscle building & Hydration & Recovery
RedCon1 Breach comes in 3 flavors Watermelon, Blue lemonade and strawberry kiwi. Because of the coconut milk powder inside Breach every flavor has an underlying taste of coconut, so if coconut aint your thing this is not the supplement for you. Other than that we love the strawberry kiwi flavor.
Mixability: Mixability is ok, but You will definitely need a shaker for this one.
At $34.99 for 30 servings before any promotion or deal, RedCon1’s Breach is landing right in the middle of the mix of the recovery market. A BOGO Free for Breach was seen in the wild and you can always compare prices for Breach or sign up to the deal alerts newsletter on Fitness Deal News and we will let you know when a hot deal is around.
Different from some of the other products introduced by RedCon1, Breach is not ‘something special’, but it is a well rounded recovery formula that you could easily add to your arsenal.
