Jack3d Pre Workout

Jack3d Pre Workout is a pre workout supplement from USP Labs that has gained some serious recognition over the years.

The formula has changed a couple times, but this review is of the most up-to-date version.

It looks like the original. The marketing claims are the same as the original. The label reads like the original.

But the real question is whether it feels like the original?

I’m going to walk you through the label, which is not going to take long because it’s a proprietary blend.

Then I’m going to tell you exactly what happened at one scoop, two scoops, and three scoops, and where this lands against the pre workouts I actually rate.

The Label: What’s Theoretically Inside

Dosing is one, two, or three scoops, same as the original. The proprietary blend runs about 4 grams per scoop, so 12 grams at the full three scoop dose. Everything except caffeine is hidden inside that blend.

Here is what’s listed:

Jack3d Pre Workout Ingredients

  • L-Arginine and Creatine Monohydrate. Nobody is buying Jack3D for the creatine. It’s there. Moving on.
  • Beta-Alanine, third on the list. If creatine sits at a standard 5 grams, beta-alanine likely lands somewhere around the classic 3.2 grams. That’s an assumption, not a fact.
  • Caffeine at 135 mg per scoop. This is the one number they actually disclose. That’s 270 mg at two scoops and roughly 405 mg at three.
  • 2-Aminoisoheptane (DMHA), the modern workhorse.
  • Geranium extract from stem and leaf. We’ll come back to this one.
  • Yohimbe, amount unknown.
  • Schisandra chinensis, a Chinese adaptogen herb. Limited research behind it, generally positioned for stress relief.

That’s the formula.

Not complex, fully proprietary, and you don’t know how much of anything is in there except the caffeine.

About that geranium extract:

Here’s the part everyone asks about. The original Jack3D also listed geranium extract rather than DMAA outright, and the whole legal fight was over whether DMAA can actually be derived naturally from geranium.

The FDA landed firmly on no, and that’s where the problems started.

So what’s in this one? I don’t know. You can buy geranium off the shelf legitimately.

What you can’t easily buy is the alkaloid everyone actually wants. This listing could be a DMAA and DMHA combination, it could be real, or it could be sitting on the label purely for marketing continuity with the original. Labels are just labels.

And before anyone starts on the proprietary blend thing: the original Jack3D was completely proprietary too, and the same people complaining about it now are the ones who still get emotional about the original. It is what it is.

My Experience: Does the new Jack3d Deliver?

I ran one scoop once, two scoops across several days, and three scoops once. Here’s how each played out.

1. Onset and Kick

The label says take it 60 minutes before training. Ignore that. This hits in about five minutes. It is not a slow builder like Dark Energy, which needs time to creep up on you. Jack3D comes on fast and comes on strong. Tingling arrives early, energy right behind it.

The single scoop, for the record, is a mild nootropic kick and not much more. I used one scoop while traveling before a meeting and a presentation, and for that purpose it was fine. It is not a training dose.

2. Two Scoops: The Sweet Spot

This is where Jack3D lives, and it’s a really good experience.

The energy is productive, not crackhead. There’s a sense of urgency without it tipping into something chaotic. Focus is the standout. I trained on this twice with no headphones and no music, which is a hard test to pass because you’ve got nothing masking a weak formula, and I was locked in both times.

Mood elevation is present but it isn’t happy. It’s more aggressive than that. You don’t feel euphoric, you feel like you want to work. Power output is up and you can push for longer stretches.

Duration was solid. A good couple of hours in, I still wanted to keep training.

If you want a reference point, two scoops of Jack3D sits close to El Jefe and Charged AF by Steel Supplements. Same productive lane.

3. Three Scoops

Three scoops does not change what the product is. Focus stays the same. Mood elevation stays the same. Power output stays the same.

What changes is urgency. Your heart rate goes up and you feel more rushed in the gym. Not crackheaded, just faster. At roughly 405 mg caffeine, most people reading this are already taking more than that regularly, so nothing dramatic happens.

My take: most of you don’t need three scoops. Save it for the days when you’re wrecked and nothing else is getting you off the couch.

4. Flavor

I had the Fruit Punch flavor, it was ok. Not amazing, not bad.

There are several other flavors that I heard were better, so go with what speaks to you.

But at the end of the day, it’s a pre workout, don’t sweat it.

The Final Verdict

Jack3D is genuinely good, and it belongs in the better tier of stim junkie pre workouts.

It’s a very complete package: good energy, good focus, good mood elevation, all wrapped in something productive.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why was Jack3d banned?

Like many other pre workouts during its era, the original Jack3d was banned because it included the federally banned ingredient: DMAA. The new formula has DMAA’s legal litttle brother: DMHA. Which hits awesome.

Is Jack3d a good pre workout?

Jack3d is still in amazing pre workout that I would definitely recommend trying out.

Does JACK3D have DMHA?

Yes, Jack3d is still being made but with DMHA. You cannot go wrong with this pre workout any day of the week.
