Mesomorph Pre Workout Review: Is The Legend Back?

Mesomorph is back, and this time the label says geranium extract.

If you have been in this game for a while, you know exactly why that matters.

Mesomorph is one of the legendary original stim junkie pre-workouts, right alongside Jack3d, and the version everyone still talks about is the DMAA one.

Is this as good as the original DMAA Mesomorph you miss so much?

Let me take you through the label, then tell you exactly what it does.

The Label: What’s Theoretically Inside

This is a semi-proprietary blend, so we get the blend totals but not the individual doses:Blend One (6,500 mg total)

• Beta-Alanine: Listed first, so it is the largest component. Best guess is the standard 3,200 mg. This is your tingle.
• Citrulline Malate: Listed second in a roughly two to one ratio behind beta-alanine, so call it 3,000 mg. Your nitric oxide and pump base.
• L-Arginine: Trailing ingredient, so probably around 300 mg.

• Creatine Malate: Strength and power output.
• L-Taurine: All-arounder for hydration and cell volume.
• Creatine Nitrate: Creatine bound to nitrate, so it works both sides, strength and pump.
• Ascorbic Acid: Antioxidant support.
• Creatinol-O-Phosphate: Buffers lactic acid to delay fatigue.
• Agmatine Sulfate: The pump ingredient you see in almost every dedicated pump formula.

Neuromorph Neuro Energize Stimulant Matrix

• Caffeine Anhydrous: The energy base, amount undisclosed.
• 2-Amino-6-Methylheptane (DMHA): The stimulant most of the pre-workouts I actually like are built around right now.
• Geranium Extract: The headline. Steaming leaves, undisclosed alkaloid profile.
• Theobromine: A softer stimulant with a longer, more prolonged effect.
• Naringin: A fat burner ingredient that also slows the breakdown of the other stims.

Labels are just labels, and proprietary blends mean we genuinely do not know the amounts.

That said, Hi-Tech operates right on the edge but they generally put in what they say they put in.

So I am working on the assumption that there is real DMHA and real geranium extract in this tub.

My Experience: Does Mesomorph Deliver?

1. Onset and Peak

This kicks in around 15 to 20 minutes, which is when the beta-alanine tingling starts showing up. That is a slightly longer runway than I usually like.

The energy peak lands around 30 to 40 minutes in. So take this a solid 20 minutes before you actually need to be going. You will feel the tingles before that, but the real effect arrives half an hour in.

2. Energy

Very good energy. Solid kick, and it holds. But let me be precise about the character of it, because this matters.

This is not stim junkie energy. This is not Assassin. It is not crazy, aggressive, edge-of-your-seat stimulation. It is very good productive energy, the kind you can build a real workout on.

3. Mood and Euphoria

Here is the answer to the question everyone is asking. Yes, the euphoria is there. There is real mood elevation, and it is noticeably better than the previous non-geranium version in this category.

But it is productive mood elevation rather than the full euphoric experience. Positive, not blissed out. If you want genuine euphoria and happiness, that is Pre-Phase KO, Dark Energy, and the limited edition Halloween Defiant Unleashed. Those three are where you go for that.

Does it feel like DMAA? I honestly do not know.

What I can tell you is that it feels very much like the newer Jack3d with DMHA, which makes sense since Hi-Tech is behind that one too.

4. Tingles

You get the tingling, though it is not crazy tingling. It is present and it is part of the experience. If you do not like tingles, you and I are not friends.

5. Pumps and Power

Pumps are solid. Power output is average. Neither is the reason you buy this tub, but neither is a weakness.

6. The Post-Workout Tail

This is my favorite part, and it is probably a function of the later peak. The effect carries with you for another two to three hours after you leave the gym. Very good post-workout tail on this one.

7. Flavor

I had Pineapple.

Hi-Tech released this in about ten flavors, and Mesomorph has always been good on flavor. This one is good.

You are ingesting geranium extract, DMHA, and a proprietary blend, and you want a flavor rating out of ten. Here is my rating: I do not care.

The Final Verdict

Is this the best pre-workout I have ever taken? No.

If you want to get genuinely smacked, Assassin hits much harder than this.

But that is not what this is for.

What you get here is a very well rounded pre-workout with good energy, good focus, solid pumps, positive mood elevation, and a nice long tail. It is a solid stim junkie pre-workout without being a crazy stim junkie pre-workout, which means you can actually run it every day without feeling like you are destroying yourself.

Who this is for: anyone who wants to revisit their old Mesomorph days, and anyone looking for a well rounded daily driver with real stimulant character.

Who this is not for: anyone chasing pure euphoria or anyone who wants to get slapped across the face. There are better tubs for both.

Versus the previous version: clearly better, particularly on mood elevation. Good job, Mesomorph.
