There are many fantastic pre-workouts out on the market right now, and they all have their benefits and drawbacks. Often, you’ll find a pre-workout that does everything you want it to, delivering an amazing experience … but … it tastes like dirt. If you train four to five times per week, then you are going to be drinking a LOT of pre-workout in your life. Make sure that the pre-workout you enjoy tastes nice, because life is too short for bad tasting supplements!
In this article, we are going to be looking at five of the best tasting pre-workout supplements around. These are still going to deliver where it counts (in the weights room) but benefit from tasting so good you’ll wish you could drink it with every meal – not a good idea, but you see what we mean!
Black Magic Supps always stand out on the shelf because they have the best packaging, by an absolute mile. Luckily, they also back up the sizzle with some serious steak (to torture a marketing term). Excellent formulas using well-dosed ingredients that consistently hit the right notes during your training. One downside is the use of proprietary blends to disguise the dosages of certain ingredients, but you can forgive them this once you experience the effectiveness during your session.
BZRK by Black Magic Supply is a damn good pre-workout, targeting central nervous stimulation as well as a superior pump. As we mentioned before, it is a massive shame that they have hidden the dosage of caffeine within a proprietary blend (shady behavior) but there is enough to enhance your training without going overboard.
There are several flavors available: Crystal Blue, Mango Sunrise, Lemon Razz Ice, but our absolute favorite flavor, and the one that makes this list of best tasting pre-workout supplements is Peach Rings. Sure, the taste is subjective, but everyone we know who has tried it has raved about it. Well worthy of a place on this list.
Now you’ll have to bear with us here, because “hulk juice” sounds like the most revolting flavor in the universe. But damn if this isn’t one of the best tasting pre-workout for men or women who want to train hard. What’s more, Super Human by Alpha Lion is a fantastic product in its own right.
Unlike many stim pre-workouts, Super Human doesn’t go for the “let’s make this as terrifyingly strong as possible” route. Instead, they have created a pre-workout that will give you good clean energy and an excellent pump. Super Human will also help boost your mood and focus. This is a really clever supplement, the addition of L-Theanine is a nice touch as this will remove any anxiety or jitters that can ruin many stim pre-workout experiences.
There are many different flavors to choose from, and they all have hilariously creative names. Unicorn juice, orange gainsicle, Griswold grape … but our favorite has to be Hulk Juice, which is also known as a sour gummy bear. Tastes great and is a very unique experience. Sour is not a commonly used flavor in supplements, and Alpha Lion have managed to utilize it well here.
We’re not sure how long Defiant Unleashed will still be available, considering that it contains 200mg of DMHA, so get it while you still can. Not only is Defiant Unleashed a high-quality supplement, the Snow Cone flavor is incredible.
Excellent doses of L-Citrulline, Beta-Alanine, and Choline Bitartrate, are paired well with L-Tyrosine, Eria Jarensis Extract (the industries latest attempt to replace DMAA) and 2-Aminoisoheptane (DMHA).
So you’re getting a lot of CNS stimulation, a good pump, a big drop in fatigue, and a mood enhancer all mixed into one pre-workout. You’re also getting a taste experience that will knock your socks off. Snow Cone flavor is everything you’ve hoped it would be … it tastes like a snow cone.
It’s difficult to put into words why this supplement tastes so good (we’re not restaurant critics we’re bros with supplements), but Team Muscle Force have managed to create a flavor that does what it says it will without becoming cloying after multiple tastes. Well done Team!
Just like Super Human by Alpha Lion, Galvanize by Clinical Labs is a pre-workout that looks to outsmart the competition rather than deliver a baseball bat to the head with 600mg or more caffeine. Instead, you’ll have to make do with just 225mg per 2 scoop serving. But it also contains DMHA and Dicaffeine Malate, which is a decent combo to add.
The addition of anti-crash ingredients such as L-Theanine and N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine is another similarity to Super Human. Galvanize also has a great pump ingredients list (Citrulline, Arginine, Agmatine) as well as Beta-Alanine and Betaine, which can help improve strength, power, and muscular endurance. This pre-workout is seriously clever, and the flavor (Orange Burst to be specific) is out of this world too.
Our final product in our list of the top five best tasting pre workout supplements for 2019 is Wild by Juggernaut Nutrition. Again, this is a surprisingly powerful stimulant, using 150mg of caffeine as well as 100mg of caffeine citrate (which works out at 200mg of total caffeine as citrate is around 45-55mg of caffeine per 100mg). It also contains DMHA as well as Octodrine and Synephrine.
There is also enough ingredients to provide a decent muscle pump, and it is also high performance enhancing thanks to creatine, beta-alanine, citrulline, and agmatine. So far, so impressive. But the amazing flavors is where Wild stands out.
You can choose from Wild Bear, Southern Sweet Tea, Skyttlez (can you guess what this is supposed to be?), Braxton’s Sour Pals, and finally, Dweebz. In a strong list of flavors, it is the last one that has made our list. Dweebz tastes incredible! Taking you back to the candy of your youth. Seriously, this is a big drop of nostalgia for late 90s/early 00s, all in a pre-workout. What a great way to kick off a workout!
