Mr. Hyde Pre Workout Review

Since the original version of Mr. Hyde launched in 2014 it went through several iterations, with most significantly the removal of banned substances such as Octopamine HCI and Dendrobium. Hyde V2 is still one of the best selling pre workouts on the market and its stimulant overload has stood the test of time.


The Label for Dummies

One thing this label doesn’t miss is stimulants. Practically any stimulant out there is listed in this 400mg + strong stim junky pre workout. With the stimulant part covered (or over covered), the focus will be on does Mr. Hyde deliver on the other fronts?

Energy 419mg Caffeine (MATRIX)

Synephrine (30mg)

Whoa…419mg of caffeine might be too much for most people. Beyond a matrix of 3 different types of caffeine, you’ll also get  30mg of Synephrine, an extreme stimulant not often found in PWOs.
Endurance Beta Alanine (2.5g)

Creatine HCI (1g)

At 2.5 grams of Beta Alanine, it is below the recommended dosage but is one of the highest dosages of Beta Alanine we have seen in 1 scoop. Creatine HCI comes in with 1 gram which is above the researched dose of 750mg.
Pump L-Citrulline Malate (500mg)

Agmatine Sulfate (500mg)

Both the L-Citrulline Malate and Agmatine Sulfate are  WAY underdosed. The clinical dose for L-Citrulline Malate is about 4000mg. The recommended dosage for Agmatine Sulfate is 750-1500mg.
Focus & Mood N-Methyl L-Tyramine HCI (200mg)

Pikatropin Picamilon (50mg)

Interesting choice of ingredients here. There’s not a lot of research around dosage for these, but the amount in Hyde should do you good.


The Label’s Bottom Line-  The amount of caffeine included in the HYDE is over the top, but if you can handle 419mg of caffeine, this pre-workout is for you. Mr. Hyde is definitely underdosed when it comes to Pump Boosters, so don’t expect much there. N-Methyl L-Tyramine HCI and Pikatropin Picamilon are two interesting nootropics that should improve your focus during your workout.

Hands On Experience

Taste & Mixability – Mixes perfectly, no grain left behind. There are 7 flavors to choose from, we tried Fruit Punch and Cotton Candy, both tasted great.

Effectiveness –  As members of Stimulant Anonymous,  even for us 1 scoop was enough. As expected we did not get that much of a pump, which was not really a surprise, looking at the label.

Value for Money & Deal History

The retail price for 30 servings is about $29, which is around the price you would pay for the average pre-workout. As said before, one scoop of this is more than enough, so a 30 servings container will last you 30 workouts (A dollar per workout). We did see deals taking the price for 30 servings to as low as $17. Final Verdict : Someone call 911 – (A-)

Ok, listen, there are 2 options here. If you are a stimulant junky, and you usually take 2-3 scoops of other products, one scoop of this will be enough for you to get hyped. And the combination of so many Nootropics (Focus enhancers) and the 2.5g of Beta Alanine will make any bro sing hallelujah.

If your tolerance level for caffeine is low, we would recommend to either take half a scoop or don’t take it at all. This Mr. Hyde product is so piled up with stimulants, it will literally blow your head off. It has so many energy boosters in it, the effect may be negative. Too many stimulants can make you jittery and lead to a crash in the middle of your workout or after.
